Why Falkner? Falkner Winery has two completely different options to offer a bride. Their winery is a redwood building with a rustic feel. It has a large grass area for the ceremony and reception and large trees surround it, which shades you from the sun from 5:00pm on. There are great views of rolling hills and valleys and the smell of wine from the crush pad. Falkner Winery is one of the only winery where you can be outside with music until 11:00 pm! They also offer a great value to their brides.
Their other location is the Pinnacle, which of course sits a top a hill, and offers view in almost all directions. There is such warmth about this facility with its wooden floors, rounded windows and walls, and overall European flare. The Pinnacle offers it’s own beautiful lawn ceremony or their barrel room for inclement weather. They offer flexible start times and your event can go as late as you want as there are no end time restrictions for the Pinnacle. This is a rarity in wine country!

Leonesse Cellars - I met with Laura, the Wedding & Events Manager for Leonesse Cellars, to discuss her thoughts on “Why a Winery Wedding” She said,”They are so serene and I’ve never been to a winery where someone was having a bad time. Wineries denote fun, as should weddings. Wineries offer some of the most beautiful landscape possible for you wedding day. Living in California we don’t see a lot of seasonal changes, however, wineries definitely take on a different look with each season. In the winter, the vines are bare which enables you to see more of the natural landscape of the area. In the spring, the vines start to sprout leaves and the vines begin to fill in; and in the summer, the vines are very green and lush with leaves and grapes. Finally in the fall, the vines turn color in preparation for losing their leaves. Each season is unique and beautiful in it’s own way.”

Why Leonesse? Leonesse is one of the newest facilities in wine country, which is evident as you look at our facilities, although we have been producing wine for others and ourselves in the valley for many years. Leonesse is a family owned business and treats all their guests as though they are family too.
The grounds are very lush and the views tranquil with rolling hills and vistas. From our ceremony lawn, which is unsurpassed and sits in the midst of our vines, to our striking brick turret, Leonesse is simply stunning. We offer either an outdoor reception location with our climate controlled patio areas or a beautiful barrel room, which can accommodate 200 guests. But most importantly we are coined the “friendliest winery,” which is exactly what I would want if I were getting married!

Wilson Creek Winery - Wilson Creek Winery’s Food and Beverage Director, Mindy Smith shared her views on ”Why a Winery Wedding?” “Wineries offer a unique experience and are quite often a destination wedding. They are romantic, picturesque, natural and relaxing. The vines offer a uniformed chaos along with scents you just don’t get anywhere else. The wineries are not far from home but are seemingly far away.”
